Coach Spring 2013 Collection Press Presentation

Today I attended the Coach Spring 2013 collection press presentation and was greeted by a sea of pastel Spring colours upon entering the Coach showroom. Watermelon, snow, coral, parchment, kiwi, cherry, vermillion, sun orange, and the list goes on. Is it really Spring already?

But what stood out were the familiar trapeze-shaped silhouettes that bore the hallmarks of certain it bags of 2012. No prizes for guessing where this trend is headed for 2013 as the onslaught of trapeze-shaped totes shows no signs of dying down. I particularly like the smaller versions which should be quite handy for carrying small personal whatnots. The men’s Spring 2013 collection on the other hand offered quite a few versatile surprises in varied colours such as ocean, lime, persimmon, and clover. All in all, it was a quiet vibrancy that was fresh and current.

Personal Style #6 | Shentonista

This was what I wore to the Future Fashion Now showcase held at W.E. Workshop Element a couple of weeks ago and to my surprise, Charlene from Shentonista came up to ask for a photo seconds after I just got there. Founder of Shentonista, Darren joined us outside soon after for more photos as we chatted.

While I have heard of Shentonista and read it occasionally, I haven’t exactly got a clue about who they were until that day; and it was very much a pleasant experience amid overcast skies. What I like about Shentonista are the well-taken photos and the ever so descriptive text to go along with it, and they post every day. That’s 365 stylish folks from Singapore a year!

Personal Style #5 | Moments of Luxury by Gc Watches

This was the outfit I wore when I attended the Gc Smart Luxury event held a couple of weeks ago, shot by Franz from lilreddotfolks in my first ever informal studio shoot. It was a Thursday and a drab week for me.

Nevertheless, a big thank you to the good people at Gc Watches for the watch; I chose the ever so classic Gc Slim Class 2-handed series in rose gold PVD and brown leather straps. It was the perfect colour combination for my skin tone and the perfect size for my tiny wrist.

Anna Dello Russo (ADR) at H&M Accessories Collection Preview | Full Price List

The Anna Dello Russo (ADR) at H&M accessories collection will finally be upon us come 4 October 2012, almost 7 months after the Marni at H&M frenzy. Celebrating the street style goddess and fashion icon of loud ostentatious dressing, the Anna Dello Russo (ADR) at H&M accessories collection is nothing short of showy ornamental opulence.

With the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M coming this Fall, H&M is certainly not letting up. So the question now is how will you adjust your budget –if you have any at all? Do take note that most of the Anna Dello Russo (ADR) at H&M accessories collection are pieces that you are probably going to wear 2 or 3 times a month. That being said, H&M collaborations are limited editions and have become so exclusive and sought-after that you just have to invest in them. No exceptions; fashion moves fast. Take Tom Ford for Gucci and Margiela for Hermés in the 1990s, or even Margiela for his namesake label as examples. There is no turning back the clock.

Taking the above into context, the choker necklaces, bangles and bracelets are definite must-haves and most of them are only retailing at less than S$100. All I can say is go go go!

Hermès Presents “The Gift of Time” Exhibition at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station

Hermès presents “The Gift of Time” exhibition at the now-defunct Tanjong Pagar Railway Station which I had the pleasure of previewing it today at the opening celebration.

Presented in collaboration with American artist Hilton McConnico who is also a scenographer, poet and long-time partner of Hermès, “The Gift of Time” exhibition chronicles the famed beginnings of the Hermès story revolving around Time, Hermès’ theme of 2012. Visitors will walk through a series of non-static installations and shadow boxes, while discovering Time as illustarted by Hermès and Hilton McConnico.

“Hermès time does not try to master time but rather offers us the time to see and understand this ever changing world.” -Hilton McConnico
