The Anna Dello Russo (ADR) at H&M accessories collection will finally be upon us come 4 October 2012, almost 7 months after the Marni at H&M frenzy. Celebrating the street style goddess and fashion icon of loud ostentatious dressing, the Anna Dello Russo (ADR) at H&M accessories collection is nothing short of showy ornamental opulence.
With the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M coming this Fall, H&M is certainly not letting up. So the question now is how will you adjust your budget –if you have any at all? Do take note that most of the Anna Dello Russo (ADR) at H&M accessories collection are pieces that you are probably going to wear 2 or 3 times a month. That being said, H&M collaborations are limited editions and have become so exclusive and sought-after that you just have to invest in them. No exceptions; fashion moves fast. Take Tom Ford for Gucci and Margiela for Hermés in the 1990s, or even Margiela for his namesake label as examples. There is no turning back the clock.
Taking the above into context, the choker necklaces, bangles and bracelets are definite must-haves and most of them are only retailing at less than S$100. All I can say is go go go!

What Lies Beneath is the title of it photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot’s 28-page editorial in Love Magazine #6. Styled by Love Magazine Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand, What Lies Beneath starring Mariacarla Boscono, Saskia De Brauw, Kristen McMenamy, Anais Pouliot, Lara Stone, Guinevere Van Seenus, Paul Boche, Xiao Wen Ju, Jed Texas and Angus Whitehead, comes with an accompanying fashion film that also marks Mert and Marcus’ first ever fashion video.
Much has been said about the source of inspiration for What Lies Beneath that is stunningly dark and visually poignant. Plagiarism or inspiration? These two issues only matter to the parties involved and serious fashion folk. To the average consumer/viewer, what matters are visually stunning images, period. Mert and Marcus’ What Lies Beneath editorial and film for Love Magazine #6 showcased that and that’s all I have to say.

DIS Magazine introduces us to the world’s first planking-inspired fashion editorial showcasing Fall 2011 looks from the likes of Alexander Wang, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Missoni and Christopher Kane among others. Aptly titled Plank Girl, the fashion spread stars Ruth Gruca, Rachel Lord, Courtney Malick, Analisa Teachworth and Emilie Waterhouse planking at various locations, shot by David Toro and styled by Khalid Al Gharaballi.
This planking-inspired editorial is probably more tongue-in-cheek than anything to do with fashion. Well, take a look below and amuse yourself.
Brazilian model Raquel Zimmermann stars in a fashion film by photographer Manuel Nogueira in collaboration with NOWNESS and Elle Brazil which she covered for the month of August 2011. The short film features Raquel Zimmermann dancing to the sounds of Pierre Langer’s Tide King modeling the designs of Brazil’s brightest fashion talent, including Alexandre Herchcovitch, Andrea Marques and Pedro Lourenco.
What I like about this pulp cinema-inspired short film is the concept. It has Brazilian written all over it fom the model, to the director to the fashion editor, stylists and even the clothes. I wonder if Singapore will ever do something like this. Sheila Sim would be a shoo-in for the model role and I’m sure we would have no shortage of local talent to fill in the gaps. A good initiative to support and publicise local talent don’t you think?
