House of Holland showed its first ever Resort 2012 collection, or as Henry Holland would have it-Pre Collection S/S 2012, in New York (also a first) a couple of days ago and they have a short film to go along with it. British model, Eliza Cummings, dances and mimes in the video to a Neneh Cherry song called Buffalo Stance with creative direction by Mariano Vivanco. Upbeat, quirky and cool.
Inspired by the New World of Spanish-speaking Peru and Mexico, brightly coloured striped fabrics and wacky digital prints that consisted of bones, skulls and flowers were fused together to produce a wonderful visual spectacular.
‘We focused on key commercial shapes, and paired them with a lot of digital prints. We’ve never done skulls before so we made them with smiley faces,’ said Henry Holland.
This is not House of Holland’s first foray into video. They have launched a short film to coincide with the showing of their Autumn/Winter 2011 collection early this year. This one stars Pixie Geldof and Dree Hemmingway as well as Henry Holland himself.
I am really liking all these House of Holland videos. Makes you wanna groove and strike your best Zoolander pose when the music stops. And you know with House of Holland videos, you have to press the replay button again!
