Tati Cotliar and Julia Saner stars in the latest Mulberry Autumn/Winter 2011/2012 ad campaign shot by Tim Walker. I love the creative direction in this one; strong theme and very cohesive images that brought out the few stronger looks from the Mulberry Autumn/Winter 2011/2012 collection.
And just like most brands these days, Mulberry has a video ad campaign -also shot by Tim Walker- to go along with these images.
As much as I like this ad campaign, the same cannot be said for the actual collection. Sorry Emma Hill. The pieces would do well as separates but as whole outfits; it just needs a little more oomph. It was just not excitable but that’s what you would expect from a heritage brand. Mulberry fans would love it though.
The collection delved into the rich English heritage inspired by the likes of Roald Dahl‘s Fantastic Mr. Fox. Much emphasis was placed on outerwear which could bode well for sales together with updates on the Mulberry family of bags. Check out the update on the Tillie and the all-new Polly Push Lock tote as well as the new Carter Double Handle bag, now with a double postman’s lock closure. I think they’re going to be hits. All bags are available now at the Mulberry online store and Net-A-Porter. Here are some looks from the Mulberry Autumn/Winter 2011/2012 collection.
Kirsten Dunst and Rebecca Hall carrying the Carter and Taylor respectively. Loving them both.

I was just browsing around and I found the Proenza Schouler PS11 leather satchel. Well many of you would have heard of the PS1 but MAYBE not the PS11. The PS11 was unveiled during the Proenza Schouler Fall/Winter 2010/2011 show and wa la the PS1 has a new sister. The PS11 is slightly smaller in size and comes with a removable shoulder strap. The bag can be worked as a satchel, cross-body or clutch. I prefer the cross-body option a la Mary-Kate Olsen. She is one woman who loves her Proenza Schouler bags.
The PS11 in saddle.
The PS1 clutch in croc skin which is a special order if I’m not wrong.
And my personal favourite, the PS1 in jet black python skin!
I like how the chunky shiny buckles stand out. They give the bag an extra ooommph while yet being silently uderstated don’t you think? But if you are going for an even more understated bag then I think the Celine Classic Box Bag or the Hermes Constance Bag is more for you. And hold that thought! Do you think that the classic box bag looks like the SIA girl bag???! We’ve got Pierre Balmain to design the uniform but little did I know that we have got ‘something’ to do with Celine. Does anyone know who designed that iconic (i say iconic ’cause I think it is, in the local context) bag?
Available in one size and in saddle or black and and AND in python skin.
I am totally in love with python skin by the way. The slight roughness and the visual feast of the texture and slightly soft-looking but yet sturdy feel of the leather is just amazing. Saddle and python skin option available at Luisaviaroma while the black option is available at Net-a-Porter.
I say move over Mulberry!
