The Vogue Paris June/July 2012 issue is one magazine that is surely on everyone’s lips. If it’s not the sand on cover star Gisele Bündchen’s butt cheeks getting your attention, it is the toned bare back of the supermodel, who at 31 and a mother of one, is still looking as good as when she first came on the scene more than 10 years ago. Shot by Inez and Vinoodh, Gisele Bündchen is styled by none other than Emmanuelle Alt who I must say is finally coming into her own after surpassing the one year mark as editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris as of the April 2012 issue.
The Vogue Paris June/July 2012 issue also marks the first Health Initiative issue which is a pact between the 19 international editors of Vogue to encourage a healthier approach to body image within the industry. Read the full Health Initiative agreement and Anna Wintour’s letter on the issue.
With most magazines having either a sports-themed (with the Olympics around the corner) or resort-themed (June being Summer issues) main editorial, I daresay this editorial is a clear winner. Carine Roitfeld is finally back to heading her own publication! Come September this year, Carine Roitfeld will launch the very first issue of her new magazine which she says will be ‘very very different from French Vogue’ where she was previously editor-in-chief before she resigned in December 2010.
The magazine will be published twice a year and will look ‘more like a book than a regular glossy’. It will be ‘fashion with a lot of freedom’. The name of the magazine has not been revealed yet but I am excited to see what she has come up.
The same publishing house that owns Visionaire, V Magazine and V Man will produce this publication and I hope prices will not be as steep as Visionaire. Well, I hope Carine Roitfeld does not disappoint with this new magazine of hers come September!

Sasha Pivavorova covers the Vogue Paris October 2011 issue in what I must say is Emmanuelle Alt’s best issue ever since her first Vogue Paris issue in April 2011 as editor-in-chief. The cover editorial, titled Fatale features both Sasha Pivavorova and Anja Rubik in a daring display of nudity that is so Vogue Paris. Lensed by Mert and Marcus and styled by Emmanuelle Alt, Anja Rubik and Sasha Pivavorova’s commanding presence in each of the photos coupled with sensual hints make for a stunning and stimulating editorial. Zuzanna Bijoch dazzles for Vogue Paris September 2011. Photographed by Josh Olins and styled by Véronique Didry, up-and-comer Zuzanna Bijoch is immaculately dolled up in expensive jewels from the likes of David Yurman, De Beers, Van Cleef and Arpels, Harry Winston and Boucheron among others with clothes from Gucci, Jil Sander, Oscar de la Renta, Miu Miu and Manish Arora. Precious metals and gems juxtaposed with prints never looked so good plus Zuzanna Bijoch is one of my favourite models at the moment. Carine Roitfeld will be working with V Magazine for a whooping 72-page fashion editorial spread for the September 2011 issue of V Magazine. Shot by Mario Testino, the heroes-themed V Magazine September 2011 issue will be centred around Elizabeth Taylor. If there is one magazine to add to your list of September issues you will be getting come Fall, this is it.
